DialogWeb Help: The Online Thesaurus

An online thesaurus is an authority file or list of subject terms used to index a document. In Guided Search, it is accessed through the Browse option in Dynamic Search. Not all databases have an online thesaurus. Browsing the online thesaurus is limited to single-database searches.

The Browse display includes a list of related terms, their relationship to the term you entered (Narrower, Broader, Related, Broadest, Preferred, and Used For) and the number of records that are available for each term. You can select terms from the list and add them to your search, or  you can click a term to display a list of its related indexed terms.
