If you are searching in a full-text
market research database, the titles of the available reports display , the results of
your search display in a Report Picklist. Report Picklists contain the titles of the
reports retrieved by your search. When you select a title from a Report Picklist, a second
Picklist displays. The contents of this list is determined by the Output Format you
selected for the Report Picklist display, either Table of Contents or Section Headings.
If you select Table of Contents, page information follows each record in the second
Picklist. The record Price is based on the number of pages times the price per page. Check
the Picklist page and price information before making your selections as a page may
contain more than one record and records can span more than one page.
If you select Section Headings, the second Picklist displays the headings and the
records for each heading. Record information follows the main heading, and the pricing
information is based on the number of records associated with the heading. You can select
a heading, which includes all of the records, or you can select individual records.
Output and Modify Options
- Show Rates
The Price information shown on the Report and Content Picklist displays is the per page
price. To get more information on record prices, click Show Rates.
Note: Report records are charged on a per page basis. Some records are
more than a page in length and some pages contain more than one record. Record page
information is provided in the Report Picklists.
- Format
The format you select determines what information displays in the Contents
Picklist. You can select either Table of Contents or Section Headings.
- Destination
You can specify where you want to display or send the Table of Contents or
Section Headings. The options are:
- Browser - displays records in the Dialog Web browser window
- Browser for Print Save - opens a new browser window that displays only the records
- Email, Fax, Postal Address - lets you specify an email address, fax number, or postal
address for sending records
- Back to Search
Click Back to Search to redisplay the search form. You can edit, add, or delete
information on the form. If you have requested a Dynamic Search, click Refine Search to
display detailed information on your search. You can use this information to modify your
search criteria.
- Back to Reports Picklist
Click to return to the previous Report Picklist.
Other Report and Content Picklist Options
- Your search category selections display as links at the top of the Picklist. To return
to a category, click the category link.
- For your convenience, search information and options you specified on the search form
also display at the top of the Picklist.
- Save As Alert
You can save your search strategy as a Dialog Alert. The Dialog Alert service
lets you store a search and have it run
automatically when a database is updated
or according to a schedule you set up.
- Save Search Strategy Only
Use this feature to save your search strategy.
- Previous and Next
Use the Previous and Next options to move through the Picklist.
- Show Errors
If Dialog detects a processing or input error while compiling your search, the
Show Errors link displays. Click the link to display the error type and a brief
explanation of why it occurred.
