| DialogWeb Help: Dynamic Search Forms |
The Dynamic Search form contains an input box for
entering your search terms (for example, a company
or product name) and a drop-down list that lets you select the index for your
search. Index selections vary according to the databases selected for the search. Many
databases allow an option of searching an index so that the terms entered in the Search
For input box are included somewhere in the field being searched, or you have a choice of
searching so that only the exact same terms entered are found in the field. A field that
has the capability of looking for an exact word or phrase match will have "exact match"
included in the field name, e.g., Company Name (exact match).
Some Dynamic Search forms contain a Browse option that lets you display a list of indexed
terms that are similar to the term you enter. This valuable feature lets you see exactly
how a term is indexed and lets you select the term and its index field directly from the
Browse display. If a Dynamic Search includes a database that does not offer a free format,
a warning displays at the bottom of the search form.
