DialogWeb Help: Targeted Search

Targeted Search is the easiest DialogWeb search option. Targeted Searches are available when in Guided Search mode. To use Targeted Search, select the search category and the category options that define your topic. When the category-specific search form displays, complete the form, click Search, and DialogWeb compiles and runs a search based on  the information you entered.

Targeted Search is available at various levels of the search category selection process. For example, if you select Intellectual Property from the main category page and then select Patents as a category option, you can elect to have a Targeted Search run against  Patent Search, or you can select a more specific Patent category and run a Dynamic Search.

The result of your search is a picklist of of available records. You can select titles from the list and display or send the records, or you can return to the search form and modify or add information. You can save your Targeted Search strategy or use it to set up a Dialog Alert.

You can suppress the display of Targeted Searches by modifying the Categories setting on the Settings page (see the Display Preferences section).
