Dialog offers two multiple-file search options: OneSearch and DIALINDEX (File 411).To identify the databases with the most information on your search topic, use DIALINDEX to search all the databases or smaller collections of database indexes. Then, use OneSearch to conduct a comprehensive search in those databases. With OneSearch you can conduct a full search of a collection of related databases (up to 60), browse the indexes, or display records. All Dialog commands are available in OneSearch with the exception of FILE, LIMITALL, and REPORT. When searching market research files, REPORT TITLES is available in OneSearch.
You can search using OneSearch categories. You can also mix OneSearch categories and file numbers, for example, b medicine, 11. To remove files from your OneSearch selection, enter the BEGIN command, followed by the OneSearch category, the word not, and the files that you want removed from your search, for example, b medicine not 295,265,144.
