KWIC, abbreviated k, is a display option used with the TYPE command. KWIC displays a 30-word section of the records that contain your search terms. To activate KWIC, specify it as the format in the TYPE command, for example, s3/k/1-10.
KWIC can be used with predefined formats, for example, s3/3,k/1-10. You can also use KWIC with display codes, for example, t s2/ti,k/1-5.
To change the size (2-50words) of the record section that you want displayed, use the SET KWIC command, for example, set kwic 40. The SET KWIC specification remains active, unless changed, for your current search session.
KWIC is not available in all databases. Check the database Bluesheets for availability and in some databases there is a charge for KWIC.
HILIGHT, abbreviated hi, is designed for full-text databases. It allows for the rapid location of your search terms. To activate HILIGHT, enter set hi on. To HILIGHT a specific character, enter HILIGHT followed by the character, for example, set hi %.
