DialogWeb Help: What is a SearchSave?

A stored search strategy is called a SearchSave. Use the SAVE command to store your search strategy and recall it for later use.

To permanently save a search strategy, run your search and after your final set has been created enter save and an optional search name (1-6 characters), for example, save kate. Dialog appends a two-character code to the beginning of the name you enter. If you do not enter a name, Dialog assign an alphanumeric name to the SearchSave. The first character in the code or name assigned to permanently stored SearchSaves is an "S".

To store a search strategy for seven days, run your search and after your final set has been created enter save temp and an optional search name. Dialog assigns a two-character code to the name you enter. If you do not enter a name, Dialog assign an alphanumeric name to the SearchSave. The first character in the code or name assigned to temporary SearchSaves is an "T".

To run a SearchSave, enter the EXECUTE STEPS command followed by the full name of the stored search, for example, exs sbkate.

To display a SearchSave, enter the RECALL command followed by the full name of the stored search.

To delete a SearchSave, enter the RELEASE command followed by the full name of the stored search.

There is a nominal monthly charge for the storage of permanent SearchSaves. There is no storage charge for temporary SearchSaves.
