DialogWeb Help: Displaying Records

The Display option displays your search results. Display is an option on the Search History page and the Records page.

Displaying Records from the Search History Page
To display records from the Search History page, specify the format and the number of records you want to display (1-99) and click Display. You can also enter a TYPE command.

Formats determine the amount of information displayed for each record. The Format list box lists the basic format options. The format you select is used for the records retrieved when you click Display in the Search History table. The basic format options are: Free, Short, Medium, Long, and Full.

To specify a basic format, select an option from the drop-down list.

To display a list of all the formats available for the selected database

  1. Click the Formats option under Show Database Details.
  2. Scroll down the screen.
  3. Click the down arrow on the Format Numbers list box.
    Note: The Basic format options are used for the records retrieved when you click the Display button. To use a format option from the Format Numbers list box, enter a TYPE command in the Command text box and include the format in the command, for example, t s3/1/1-50.

The Number of Records text box lets you specify the number of records (1-99) that will be retrieved when you click Display. A maximum of 99 records can be specified.

Displaying Records from the Records Page
The Records page displays the records from the Search History page. The records display in the format specified on the Search History page. You can print or save records, display them using another format, or request offline prints.

Note:
You can also use the Web browser Print button to print DialogWeb pages. To use the Web Browser button, you must first click in the text of the record browser window. This is very important because DialogWeb uses multiple frames.
