| DialogWeb Help: The RD (Remove Duplicates) Command |
| Example: Request
the removal of duplicate citations from your search results. Command: rd s1 |
The REMOVE DUPLICATES command, abbreviated rd, detects and removes duplicate citations from your search results and creates a set of unique records in which only one copy from each set of duplicate citations is retained. Retention is based on the order in which databases are entered in the BEGIN command. The records in the set created with the REMOVE DUPLICATES command are in accession number order by database. The IDENTIFY DUPLICATES command can be used to sort an REMOVE DUPLICATES set by title.
You can specify the removal of duplicate citations from a specific set by entering the REMOVE DUPLICATES command followed by the set number, as in the example above. You can also remove duplicates from specific files in a set, for example, rd s3 from 1,6,16.
Records in a set created with the REMOVE DUPLICATES command can be used in later search statements.
Note: REMOVE DUPLICATES is not available in all databases.
